Cryo Biopsy

Cryobiopsy is a technique where a special probe is used to freeze lung tissue for biopsy. Dr. Mayank performs cryobiopsy to obtain larger tissue samples for diagnosing lung diseases, especially when other biopsy techniques are less effective. The frozen tissue is then thawed and examined under a microscope for abnormalities. Cryobiopsy is particularly useful in cases of interstitial lung disease and some types of lung cancer.
